Dairy Queen’s Blizzard Fan Club Fanbook

Bust out the noisemakers and strap on your party hats fans, it’s time to celebrate. Not only is it New Year’s, it’s also the 25th Birthday of the Blizz! 2010 marks a quarter century of DQ mixing up creamy soft serve with your favorite tasty sweets.

To get the party started, DQ has created the most amazing, fantastic, ultimate, delicious Blizzard treat menu with 25 Blizzard treats on it. That’s 15 more than normal! With so many Blizzard treats to try, there’s no time to waste. Get to your local DQ and start checking them off the list.

The New Year is fast approaching, which means it’s time to start thinking about a New Year’s resolution. Since I could only make it until January 5 with the whole “diet resolution” last year, I’m going to try something a little more attainable.

This year, my New Year’s resolution is to share more of my favorite thing in the whole wide world…

Lima beans.

Yep, I’ll be pretty popular with my buddies when I’m handing out creamy DQ soft serve mixed with their favorite candy…wait, this is going to be harder than I thought. I guess I’ll just have to have a little will power, that’s all.

Or, I could just buy a DQ Blizzard Cake, which is big enough to share with everyone! Now I’m on to something.

So, by now you’ve heard that the official Holiday Blizz is the Candy Cane Chill. And if you haven’t yet, I just told you.

This festive Blizz is a tasty combination of peppermint candy cane pieces and rich chocolate chunks mixed with creamy DQ soft serve.

If you were to  add some holiday flare to your favorite Blizz, what would you do?

How ‘bout adding mint to the Classic Oreo Blizz? Or, mixing cherries into your favorite Blizz to give it a little Holiday pizazz. It’s too bad they don’t make edible twinkle lights, because that would make the ultimate Holiday Blizz.

(I promised my son, Jack, a trip to DQ, so off we went on a quiet Sunday afternoon to little Chickasha, OK, for some yummy Blizzard Treats. On the way, Jack started making up a song about how much he loves DQ, and soon, Erin and Will were chipping in with lyrics — this is the result of their efforts. It’s not perfect, but since the kids wrote it, I think it’s great!

The holidays are upon us and people everywhere are throwing parties to celebrate. If you’re planning on joining the festivities this season, you’re probably going to want to bring something special to the table. And no, I’m not talking about a fruitcake.

I’m talking about the one and only DQ Blizzard Cake: fudge and chocolate crunch between layers of chocolate or vanilla soft serve, topped off with a Blizzard treat flavor. Bring one of these babies to your next holiday party and you’ll be a holiday hero.

Everyone at the party will probably pick you up and carry you around the room as they sing how jolly good of a fellow you are.

Or not. But at least you’ll save people from being forced to eat more of that dreaded fruitcake.

I know how much you guys love the Blizz, and you’re probably thinking about sharing the Blizz love with everyone on your list this holiday. But, don’t make the same mistake I did. Last year, I put the actual Blizzard treats in my family’s stockings. Long story short, everyone had to trade in their spoons for straws.
